Estonia's Parnu port company AS Parnu Sadam is hoping to offer its services to five to 10 international cruise companies in 2 years in the Parnu downtown port, which is to be finished in the fall 2016, informs LETA/BNS.

"We just came from a cruise fair in the U.S. and I must say that interest in our port was unexpectedly high. It gives me optimism and if we can continue with our work in the same manner, it is very real that it will all start off well and up to 10 cruise ships will arrive," member of the port company's supervisory board Kaspar Kokk told BNS.

According to Kokk the port company wants the City of Parnu as well as local companies to show some effort since they will get more tourists thanks to the port and cruise ships.

At present it is known that the first cruise ship with up to 100 passengers, Serenissima, is to call in Parnu on July 17, 2017. The port entered into an agreement with cruise company Noble Caledonia in November.
