Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant opened in Riga Old Town

The American fast food chain has set up its restaurant at 14 Audeju Street in the Old Town of Riga.
As LETA observed, over 200 people have lined up to get a taste of the new fast-food joint, as the restaurant has offered free chicken to the first several persons in line.
LETA also reported, according to the Patent Office of Latvia, KFC registered its brand in Latvia already back in 1992, which means that the holding company will open its subsidiary in Riga without a franchise.
KFC and Pizza Hut both belong to the American fast food company "Yum! Brands".
With more than 18,000 restaurants in 115 countries, KFC is currently one of the largest fast food chains in the world.
Pizza Hut currently operates more than 13,000 restaurants in 88 countries.
