This season’s RFW image is the photo from the famous Latvian designer’s Atis Artemjevs new collection look-book. Riga inhabitants and city guests will have the opportunity to see the image during PR campaign in the streets, various fashion magazines and on the internet. It is also remarkable that RIGA FASHION WEEK official image authors – photographer and stylist Polina Viljun, fashion designer Atis Artemjevs and model Madara Malmane (model agency Gints Bude Model Management) – participate in the RFW image creation for the second time in a row., informed BC RFW’s press office.

Besides the traditional defiles, various entertaining and educational events for specialists and other interested people will take place during RIGA FASHION WEEK, some of which will be open also for general public.

The opening of the 17th RIGA FASHION WEEK will take place in the shopping centre „Sky & More” where two Latvian designers – Janis Sne and Ingrida Zabere, as well as already known to the local public designer from Estonia Triinu Pungits will present their capsule collections. The atmosphere of the evening will be created by the CBETOMUSIC visuals and music by Beat Retro Scratch project.

On October 31 in the main hall of the RFW – in the exhibition hall „Rīgas Mākslas telpa” – the opening of the Franz Christian Gundlach photo-exhibition will take place. F. Ch. Gndlach is a legendary photographer of the second part of the XX century, a cult personality in the world of fashion and photography. He was the first who understood that modern fashion is a symbol of the epoch and the best illustration of it. All his life Gundlach was not only taking pictures, but also collecting the works of other big authors, and his collection is one of the most important sources for studying the history of photography today. The exhibition will be open for the visitors of the RFW from October 31 till November 3.

On November 1 the menswear brand SALT created by the designer Indra Salcevica will celebrate its five years' anniversary by a cheerful party under the motto “Winter Garden” in the restaurant "Kitchen" that is located in the creative quarter Spīķeri on Maskavas street 12к-1. Program of the party include fashion performance and music by DJ Dubra and saxophonist Janis Danevichs. Friday, November 2, will start with a pre-party in a new fashionable Bar.Ber room on Maza Smilsu street 13, in Old Riga. Bar.Ber room is an interesting place with a new for Riga concept: during the daytime it is a hairdressing salon, in the evening - a small cheerful bar. Glamorous and at the same time democratic enough venue during incomplete month of its existence has already become one of the most fashionable places in Riga. Later Friday night will proceed with COSMOPOLITAN Party in the cinema Splendid Palace (Elizabetes str. 61) with the fashion show by Karen Millen brand which will be complemented by Kylie Minogue concert on the big screen from iConcerts collection of Lattelecom.

The night club “Coyote Fly” (Terbatas str. 2) in the framework of RIGA FASHION WEEK offers two events which will be open for general public: on Friday, November 2, a party with the fashion shows by the brands Suitsupply and List, music by DJ Daniell Mariash and popular Riga band NBC, and on Saturday, November 3, traditional RFW Models and Fans Party with a famous DJ Fomin from Moscow and awarding of the most popular RFW models.
