International Trade Fair and Science Forum for Automatic Identification - EURO ID 2011 to take place in Berlin

BC, Riga, 11.02.2011.Print version
EURO ID 2011 will connect people, businesses and technology on the trade fair grounds of Messe Berlin from 5 to 7 April 2011: EURO ID 2011 (www.euro-id-messe.de) is a must for experts and decision makers who wish to keep abreast of the latest trends in the fields of RFID, sensor technology, 2D codes, biometrics, barcodes, secure identity and card systems. Exhibitors and trade associations will present their latest developments in card systems, mobile marketing, health care, textiles, retail and secure identity among other fields. "We see enormous potential in the interplay of RFID, information and systems technology for creating new fields of competence for Germany and Europe as business locations," explains Jens Oliver Mayer, managing director of the Düsseldorf-based organiser, Informa Business Communication.

Secure Identity Conference and IUID workshop

The Fraunhofer Innovation Cluster Secure Identity Berlin-Brandenburg is holding the third Secure Identity conference on 5 April as part of the EURO ID trade fair. The event provides an opportunity for scientific exchange about all aspects from personal identity through to product identity and from biometrics to RFID technology. In addition to the scientific focus, industrial implementation and the business angle will also be discussed, informed BC Claudia Büttner, Publicity director.

The US Department of Defense (DoD) made identification with the label IUID (Item Unique Identification) regulatory last year. NATO partners are actively joining the project. The IUID workshop will provide information about the requirements for suppliers of objects, equipment, components and spare parts. IUIDs will be permanently attached to these objects so they can always be clearly identified within the institutions of DoD and NATO. Trade show visitors in need of solutions for precise tracking and tracing of individual parts can receive free information on 6 and 7 April between 2 and 5 p.m. Speakers from the circles of experts in RFID and users will address organisational and technological details and will be available to discuss individual identification solutions. One focus will be on direct parts marking (DPM) with the relevant DIN and ISO standards. The workshop will be organised by AIM, Eurodata Council and Informa.

Leaders in Automatic Identification conference

The fringe conference from 5 to 7 April during the trade fair is another platform for experts and decision makers in the RFID sector to network and exchange ideas about such issues as banking and payment, secure object identification, logistics and maintenance as well as health care and pharmaceuticals.

EURO ID 2011 as a networking platform

The trade fair will also be expanded as a networking opportunity through the Business Matching services, which were successful last year. "Interested visitors and exhibitors can use the Business Matching tool even during their preparations for EURO ID 2011 to find a suitable business partner online, make appointments ahead of time, and then meet with their contacts at the EURO ID trade fair," is how Dino Celjo, marketing manager of the trade fair organiser, explains the concept. The exhibitors were apparently quite taken with it: "We are highly satisfied with the trade fair, because of the excellent way in which we could present our products and because we could establish good customer contacts. Fifty good leads is really outstanding for a trade show." The new RFIS spotlights with practical examples from the retail, aviation as well as automotive and construction industries were also received exceptionally well. The Tracking & Tracing Theatre (T&TT) will again be a central trade show event, too. Last year more than 250 interested people attended the live presentations centring on the uses of RFID technology in the supply chain of car manufacturers.

6th European AutoID Award

Once again companies can apply for the European AutoID Award, which will be presented for the sixth time in 2011. Applications will be accepted in the categories RFID, Optical Identification, Secure Object Identity and Innovative Company. The award ceremony will take place as part of EURO ID 2011.
