Tim Collins to become chairman of Citadele bank council

He told the press representatives today that the investors are very enthusiastic about investing in Citadele, as well as about the bank's management and Latvia in general. He stressed that the deal involves a very special group of investors, and that these people will be able to contribute greatly to the bank's development.
Collins said that does not invest in places where he does not like the people he meets. "I like almost all people that I have met in Latvia," Collins said.
The investors are planning to turn Citadele into a national and Baltic champion, the investor said.
As reported, the sale agreement was signed on November 5 between the Latvian Privatization Agency, a group of 12 international investors and Ripplewood Advisors LLC for the purchase of state shares in joint-stock Citadele in the amount of EUR 74 million. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will keep its 25% stake in Citadele.
