Money Museum at Bank of Lithuania – one of the best

The Money Museum of the Bank of Lithuania was included in the first five in the MintWorld Compendium's list of the best money museums of the central banks, informs LETA/ELTA.

The list of the best money museums was arranged taking into consideration the variety of the exhibits, the quality and the rareness and educational content of the information.

 

The Money Museum opened after reconstruction by the Bank of Lithuania in the heart of Vilnius at the intersection of Gedimino Avenue and Totoriu Street is inviting to take a look at its five halls on two floors occupying an area of 350 sq m. The Museum introduces visitors to the history of world money and banking, Lithuanian money, development of banking in our country since the emergence of the first credit institutions to the present day.

 

The biannual MintWorld Compendium is dedicated to one special topic – featuring alternately technical and marketing issues. It consists of the scientific articles of mint industry insiders, independent scholars and specialists involved in research that meets the interest of the coin producing industry, comments of experienced players and cases studies.
