Banks issue LVL 164.6 mln in new loans in January

The banking sector issued a total of LVL 164.6 million in new loans this past January, according to the Financial and Capital Market Commission's data, informs LETA/Nozare.lv.

LVL 29.5 million was issued for the development of Latvian companies, LVL 51.7 million to financial institutions, LVL 17.2 million to households, LVL 66.2 million to non-residents.
The sector's loan portfolio reduced LVL 56 million or 0.5%.
The share of loans with more than 90 days of overdue payments amounted to 11.1% in the sector's loan portfolio in January. The share of such loans in the resident household loan portfolio constituted 15.1% at the end of January, whereas in the resident corporate loan portfolio – 9.1%.
There was an increase in loans with up to 30 days of overdue payments and the total share of loans with overdue payments increased to 17.9% at the end of January, compared to 17.4% in December.
