Estonian central bank has bought an armoured car Gurkha Tactical that costs more than 140,000 euros, LETA/BBN reports referring to Eesti Paevaleht.

Ford Gurkha.

The bank did not wish to comment the purchase in detail, and has only said that changed security risks require a different approach to cash transport methods.

Since the vehicle is a special-purpose vehicle, minister of economic affairs Juhan Parts issued a special permit to make it street-legal.

The vehicle that is manufactured by Canadian company Armet Armoured Vehicles weighs over eight tons, seats eight people, consumes 25 liters of fuel per 100 km and costs more than 140,000 euros.
