Print versionNordea bank's branch in Latvia posted LVL 12.1 million in losses in 2010, which is a three-fold reduction in losses when compared to the LVL 37 million the bank posted in losses at the end of 2009, Nordea representatives said during a press conference today.

The head of Nordea’s Latvian branch Andris Siksnis predicted that Nordea will be back into profit in Latvia this year, which means that the Latvian banking sector as a whole will recover this year and return to profit.
Overall, Nordea posted EUR 2.66 billion in net-profit last year worldwide, which is 15 percent more when compared to 2009, according to an announcement from the bank.
