NASDAQ OMX Vilnius switches to euro

Lithuania capital-based stock exchange NASDAQ OMX Vilnius as of today - November 22, 2010 - has changed its trading and settlement currency for shares on its regulated market from litas to euro.

Trading in all shares listed on NASDAQ OMX Vilnius will only be conducted in euro. Additionally, all three Baltic stock exchanges have reduced the tick sizes (the minimum step that a share price could move) for all shares listed on NASDAQ OMX Vilnius, NASDAQ OMX Riga, NASDAQ OMX Tallinn starting today. Instead of earlier tick size of 0.01 the new tick size equals to 0.001 units of local trading currency (EUR in Tallinn and Vilnius, LVL in Riga), LETA reports.
