Bank of Latvia President receives bigger salary than chairman of U.S. central bank

Bank of Latvia President Ilmars Rimsevics receives a bigger salary than Federal Reserve System chairman of the U.S. central bank, Ben Bernanke.

In 2008 Bernanke made USD 191,300, which is USD 15,942 a month, reports BBN/LETA.

 

According to the official statement for 2008 available in the State Revenue Service's electronic database, last year the Bank of Latvia president earned LVL 126,518 paid in salaries, bonuses, and benefits, thus making LVL 10,543 a month.

 

Last year the governor of the Bank of Estonia Andres Lipstok earned 111,000 kroons or 4,984 lats a month, the Estonian newspaper Eesti Paevaleht reports.
