According to the same formula replacing the word Pohjola to OP, names are being changed also to the other companies of the financial group that was founded in Finland in 1902 and is working in various countries. By changing the name we are not changing our high standards – the new name is combining our fundamental values. Abbreviation OP includes two Finnish terms shortly and comprehensively characterising financial organization – who we are, where we were born and where are we coming from:O means
- Osuuspankki – cooperative bank;
- P means Pohjola – north, Nordic region.
We are a cooperative bank. It means that our clients are our shareholders. Out of 5.5 million Finnish residents 3.8 million of them are clients of OP. We unite 180 cooperative banks with 1.5 million OP shareholders. We are proud to be awarded the title of the strongest European bank. This has been approved by the study of the influential world finance media “Bloomberg Markets Magazine”.
We are working in Latvia since 2008 providing wide scope of financial services and by specializing them for large and medium companies. Our priority will always be a long-term success and welfare of our clients.
The change of the names is not going to leave impact on the contracts concluded before. Additionally we inform that starting from April 4th of 2016 our company e-mail address will be changed to [email protected] and our company web page address will be changed to opbank.lv.
