Rietumu banka enters TOP-3 banks in Latvia

At the end of the first quarter, Rietumu banka had assets in the amount of EUR 3.788 billion. Over the quarter, the bank's asset volume increased 5.6%; over the year – 22.7%, according to statistics by the Association of Commercial Banks of Latvia.
The largest bank in Latvia, in terms of assets, is Swedbank, with assets in the amount of EUR 5.015 billion at the end of the first quarter. Over the quarter, the bank's asset volume reduced 3.5%, but as compared with the end of the first quarter last year, it has grown by 0.9%.
The second largest bank in Latvia is ABLV Bank, whose volume asset at the end of March reached EUR 4.65 billion. Over the quarter, the bank's asset volume grew 10.4%, over the year – 29.5%.
The Latvian banking sector operated with a profit of EUR 31.227 billion at the end of the first quarter. Over the quarter, the banking sector's asset volume increased 1.3%.
