On Monday, Inga Rinau addressed the Klaipeda police and informed that her husband kidnapped their daughter. At night the man and the girl were found in Riga Airport. In line with the court rulings, the right to bring up the girl was given to her father, however, the mother has refused to give their daughter to her former husband.
"There was no ground for the father"s arrest, because he had the document for his daughter"s patronage," Korne told ELTA. According to the officer, the daughter was presented to the police, because she was announced in the database of wanted people.
Diplomats intend to intervene into this argument. Michael Rinau"s lawyer Dalia Foigt told ELTA that on Tuesday Michael is to meet with the staff of the German Embassy to Latvia.
As reported, Michael Rinau, suspected of kidnapping his daughter Luisa, was detained in Riga Airport on Monday night. Luisa was together with her father.
Luisa"s mother Inga Rinau called the police on Monday afternoon. The woman informed that her former husband kidnapped her daughter. The international search for the child was announced immediately.
Inga and Michael Rinau married in Germany in July 2003. Luisa was born in January 2005, several months later they divorced. Three years later, Rinau returned to Klaipeda with her daughter and older son.
In August 2006, the first court hearing took place in Germany, where temporal patronage over the daughter was given to her father and a legal fight over little Luisa started.
Inga Rinau fully lost this fight on August 25 this year, when it was decided after a court marathon that the girl has to live with her father in Germany.
In line with the ruling of Oranienburg Court, the girl has to live with her father, yet Michael has to create all conditions for Luisa"s mother to see her daughter, pay for her trips from Lithuania to Germany and back.
