Lithuanian Technology Museum to be established in former Vilnius electricity plant

Print versionThe premises of the former first Vilnius central electricity plant have been adjusted for tourism. On Friday, its rearrangement into the Lithuanian Technology Museum will be officially announced at the Lithuanian Energy Museum.

The solemn ceremony will be attended by Vilnius Mayor Juozas Imbrasas, members of Vilnius Council, heads of Vilniaus Silumos Tinklai, former employees of this company and energy specialists.
The museum is proud of the building of the old power plant and authentic equipment which was recently still operating most of all.
The project on the renovation of the museum was supported by the EU – assistance received from its structural funds reached 10.9 million litas (3.15 million euros) and Vilnius Municipality allocated 2 million litas (578,200 euros).
