Petras Vaida, BC, Vilnius, 24.05.2011.Print version
The construction of the liquefied natural gas terminal is too slow, President Dalia Grybauskaite said on Monday.

The energy package is very important in the spring session of the Seimas, the president said after a working lunch with ministers. Grybauskaite first referred to the Law on Gas, implementation of the EU's 3rd energy package, urging the Seimas to pass the Government's draft laws sooner, informs LETA/ELTA.

"The biggest problem is the pace of the construction of the LNG terminal. It is too slow. I have said that to both the prime minister and the energy minister. We actually talk a lot, but the process is very slow," Grybauskaite said.

The head of state also called on the Government to deal with the monopolies of heating suppliers, submit the relevant comments to the Parliament.

As reported, the energy minister on Monday said that talks were held with six potential consultants on the projected LNG terminal.
