A small liquefied gas terminal, such as the one in Italian town of Panigaglia, could meet Lithuania's need from natural gas. The capacity of this terminal is 3.5 billion cubic metres – this is how much gas is consumed in Lithuania per year.

"Panigaglia liquefied gas terminal confirms that Lithuania will quickly and effectively solve the problem of alternative gas supplies. First of all because the terminal occupies little space, its technology is simple and secure. The territory of the terminal is several times smaller than the territory occupied by the company Klaipedos" nafta that employs 60 people. Lithuania could build such object and will build it," said Lithuanian Energy Minister Arvydas Sekmokas who visited the Panigaglia liquefied gas terminal.

Lithuania decided to build a liquefied gas terminal – on July 21, the Government adopted a decree under which it commissioned Klaipedos nafta to immediately initiate all actions necessary for the speedy and efficient implementation of liquefied gas terminal construction project, writes ELTA/LETA.
