Print versionLithuania-based group of companies Alita has implemented the project "High-efficiency Combined Heat and Power Plant building in Alita" because of rising costs, a large increase in energy consumption throughout the manufacturing sector and a need to increase the efficiency of energy production, the company reports to NASDAQ OMX Vilnius.

The project started in July of 2009 and it was funded by the European Union's Cohension Fund. A Combined heat and Power Plant of 450 kW power and 624 kW heat capacity was installed and heat production infrastructure was modernized, writes LETA/ELTA.
The total investment cost makes up 6.2 million litas; the support of European Union Structural Funds for the project reached 3.5 million litas.
As reported, consolidated sales of Alita Group in 2009 amounted to 139.9 million litas, which is by 31% less in comparison with 2008.
