Grybauskaite highlighted that the school gained the name of the special person – Founding member of the Sajudis, a political organization which advocated for the independence of Lithuania from the Soviet Union during the late 1980s and early 1990s and Lithuanian cultural historian and activist Meile Luksiene.

According to Grybauskaite, the name charged the school with the responsibility to cultivate the public-spirited person who was respecting the mother tongue, traditions and the history of Lithuania.

"You were and are faithful to the ideals that were fundamental for Meile Luksiene. You are enshrining the love for the motherland, the language and you are protecting the traditions. Form the very first day in the school, you are implanting the public spirit, creativity and respect to one another," said Grybauskaite.

Moreover, Grybauskaite congratulated the teachers on the World Teachers' Day.

"The role of a teacher is exclusive. The public-spirited teachers are cultivating the language and the generations loving the motherland," said Grybauskaite.
