University of Tartu climbs 100 places on Academic Ranking

Print versionThe University of Tartu, which found itself on the prestigious Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), or the Shanghai Ranking, for the first time in 2016, climbed to 301-400 this year, reports LETA/BNS.
Harvard University, Stanford University and the University of Cambridge
made up this year's top three, the University of Tartu said. The Estonian
university placed in the range of 401-500 in 2016, climbing by 100 places in
2017.
The league table was originally compiled and issued by Shanghai Jiao Tong
University in 2003. More than 1,200 universities around the world are ranked
each year and only 500 make it to the final list.
