The Azerbaijani Minister for Taxes, Fazil Mamedov, and the head the State Tax Inspection of the Lithuanian Finance Ministry, Modestas Kasiliauskas, have signed a deal on technical cooperation in Baku on Thursday, Trend.az reports.

The document will extend cooperation between the two states in the tax sphere. It will aid the Azerbaijani-Lithuanian inter-governmental commission, writes LETA/ELTA.

Lithuania, as a member of the EU, may help Azerbaijan improve its tax legislature and administration. The deal will help them fight international tax evasion.

The guests observed the work of the Azerbaijani tax service, the single-window system and the telephone service of the ministry. A presentation of the Azerbaijani tax system was held.
