Latvian ambassadors abroad must focus on two priorities – fostering Latvia's economic ties with other countries and attracting foreign investments, Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis (Unity) emphasized during yesterday's meeting with the ambassadors.

Economic cooperation is important for the development of Latvia's gross domestic product and growth of exports and manufacturing, pointed out the prime minister.

Latvian ambassadors to EU member states must make use of every single opportunity to pursue Latvia's interests regarding the next EU financial perspective for 2014-2020 in order to achieve equal and fair direct payments for Latvian farmers and sufficient cohesion funding for implementation of infrastructure projects, LETA was informed by Dombrovskis' press secretary Martins Panke.
