EU – Baltic States, Forum, Lithuania

On May 7, Lithuanian Ambassador to the United Kingdom Oskaras Jusys conveyed Foreign Minister's greeting to the assembled Lithuanians. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania stressed that the UK Lithuanian Youth Association, which marked its 5th anniversary, encouraged young people to participate in joint Lithuanian activities and to get engaged in the creation of future Lithuania. Foreign Minister wished the organization to stay focused and to contribute to the creation of Lithuania.

"I encourage you to maintain mutual trust, solidarity and self-criticism. Treasure and foster your values that unite your organization and the world Lithuanian family, give your experience and knowledge to Lithuania, because the country needs them very much," reads the Foreign Minister's greeting.

The annual congress of the UK Lithuanian Youth Association was held on 7-8 May at Lithuanians' homestead "Headley Park" in Hampshire County.

The Lithuanian Youth Association in the UK has the following objectives: to rally for young Lithuanians living in this country, to foster national identity, language and culture, to develop public activities of the Lithuanian youth. The organization joins about 3000 young people who study and work in the United Kingdom. The Lithuanian Youth Association has established 11 branches in various cities of the United Kingdom.
