The Vice Prime Minister of Israel, M. Yaalon expressed the position of Israel regarding Iran’s nuclear issues. Prime Minister V.Dombrovskis emphasized that Latvia supports multilateral approach to solving Iran’s nuclear issues.

During the meeting, also bilateral relations of both countries were discussed with particular emphasis on the need to expand economic relations, including tourism promotion, between Latvia and Israel in the future.

Within the framework of the meeting of both officials the issues regarding the Middle East peace process were discussed and V.Dombrovskis stated Latvia’s position within the framework of the common foreign policy of the European Union.

At the end of the meeting the Vice Prime Minister of Israel, M.Yaalon expressed his gratitude for Latvia’s support in strengthening the European Union relations with Israel within the framework of the European Neighbourhood Policy.
