Estonia is among the 30 most competitive states in the world

Print versionEstonia is on the 30th position in the fresh 2014 global competitiveness report of IMD as compared to the 36th position last year, LETA/Postimees Online reports.
Latvia was on the 35th and Lithuania on the 34th place.
The previous time Estonia was in the top 30 was in 2008 (23rd place) and the highest place in the list was scored in 2006 (19th).
The top list is based on the states' 2013 economic results and polls of company managers than took place in February-March this year as well as background information, altogether 333 indicators.
The top position in the list went to the United States, followed by Switzerland, Singapore, Hong Kong, Sweden, Germany, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Denmark and Norway. Ukraine is on 49th place.
