Majority Lithuanian industrial companies not to reduce its employees

Production export expectations are also better: 18% of respondents forecast it is to increase and 24% think that it is to decrease (in December – 13 and 25%, respectively), reports LETA/ELTA.
According to the Statistics Lithuania data from a poll of companies' leaders, a level of industry production and demand remained unchanged compared to December. 27% of respondents said the production decreased, 24% – that it increased. 28% of respondents said that the demand for production decreased and 19% said it increased.
Now, fewer companies' leaders are going to reduce the amount of employees – 10% in January, while in December there were 23%. However, the majority of respondents are not going to change a number of their employees.
A number of companies which are going to raise their production prices has increased: in January –14%, while in December – 7%. However, the majority of leaders, similarly as before, are not going to raise their prices.
In January, economic sentiment indicator was minus 9% and, compared to December, it has increased by 2 percentage points.
Service confidence indicator has increased by 5%age points, constructions confidence indicator – by 3 percentage points, consumers' confidence indicator – by 7%age points. Retail trade confidence indicator decreased by 15%age points. Industrial confidence indicator remained unchanged.
Compared to January 2011, economic sentiment indicator decreased by 1 percentage point. Retail trade confidence indicator declined by 7 percentage points, industry – 5 percentage points. Constructions and service confidence indicators increased by 4 percentage points, consumers' confidence indicator – 1 percentage point.
