Manufacturing turnover in Latvia reduced by 1% in February

The most notable turnover reduction was recorded in the manufacture of other transport equipment (building of ships and boats, manufacture of railway locomotives and rolling stock) – 51.9%, in manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations – 27.2%, and in manufacture of chemicals and chemical products – 10.6%.But most significant growth, in turn, was observed in manufacture of rubber and plastic products – 16.2%, in manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. – 9.6%, and in manufacture of wearing apparel – by 9.5%.
Compared to February 2010, manufacturing turnover in February 2011, according to calendar adjusted2 data, has increased by 23.6%, of which in domestic market – by 11.9% and in export – by 35.6%.
