Unit value for exported goods in Latvia decreased by 6.4% and for imported goods – by 9.0% in Q4

Compared to corresponding period of 2008, the unit value (UV) for exported goods in the 4th quarter of 2009 decreased by 6.4% and for imported goods – by 9.0%, according to the data of the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia. But in comparison with the previous quarter, unit value of exported goods grew by 3.0%, and of imported commodities – by 2.2%.

In 2009 average level of export unit value reduced by 9.9% and average level of import unit value – by 6.4%, if compared to 2008.

 

Unit value changes compared to corresponding quarter of previous year

 

Compared to the previous quarter, in the 4th quarter of 2009 UV growth of products of the chemical and allied industries, wood and articles of wood, prepared foodstuffs (including beverages and tobacco), base metals and articles of base metals, as well as of textiles and textile articles had the greatest increasing impact on the average level of export unit value.

 

Compared to the previous quarter, the UV increase of transport vehicles, products of chemical and allied industries, mineral products, as well as of prepared foodstuffs (including beverages and tobacco) had the greatest impact on the average level of import unit value in the 4th quarter of 2009.
