Minimum subsistence level in Latvia dropped to LVL 166.77

Print versionIn July 2009, the monthly minimum subsistence level per capita dropped to LVL 166.77, as the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia informed LETA.

The subsistence level in June was LVL 168.38, and in May – LVL 170.13.
In January, the figure was LVL 174.41, while in July 2008 – LVL 161.91.
The content of the complete minimum consumer basket of goods and services was approved by the Council of Ministers on April 8, 1991. The minimum consumer basket does not include alcoholic beverages, tobacco and luxury items.
The value of the minimum consumer basket of goods and services is calculated monthly per one resident in Latvia by the Central Statistical Bureau.
