Lithuania"s official forex reserve up 3.8% in April 2008

In April 2008, Lithuania"s official foreign exchange reserve advanced 691.1 million litas (201.22 million euros) or 3.8% and stood at 16.3 billion litas (4.7 billion euros/ 7.3 billion US dollars) at the end of last month, the Bank of Lithuania reported.
The increase of reserve assets was driven by the growth of currency in circulation and deposits of other MFIs with the Bank of Lithuania respectively by 368 million litas (107.15 million euros) and 262.3 million litas (76.37 million euros). Forex reserve assets were also pushed up by an increase of external liabilities of the Bank of Lithuania and central government deposits with the Bank of Lithuania by 85.3 million litas (24.84 million euros) and 61 million litas (17.76 million euros), respectively.
Meanwhile, a change in other factors made forex reserve assets go down by 185.4 million litas (53.98 million euros).
