Latvia's most popular culture events included the Song and Dance Festival and November 18, Latvia's Independence Day, and also "Brain Storm's" concert.
The most popular Latvian celebrities were singer Intars Busulis, psychic Dzulija Vanga, photographer Aleksandrs Sokolovs and Kristaps Porzingis, Latvian basketball player for the New York "Knicks". The top ten searches also included outgoing Prime Minister Laimdota Straujuma (Unity), Riga-born ballet dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov and others.
The top searches for world-known celebrities in Latvia included Sam Childers, Martin Lawrence, Lolly Gartner, Hedy Lamarr, Caitlyn Jenner, Lamar Odom, Adele and Robbie Williams.
The most popular searches for films and series in Latvia were "Fatmagule", "Fifty shades of grey", "Fizruk 2" (in Russian), "Minions", "Hotel Transylvania 2", and others. The most popular goods searched last year in Latvia were "LG G3", "Samsung S6", "Just5 Blaster 2", "Iphone 7", "Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime", "Huawei P8 Lite", "Sony Xperia Z3", "Samsung Galaxy A5", "Meizu MX4" and "iPhone 6S".
