Latvia has 9th fastest internet in world in 2015

Latvia has the ninth fastest internet in the world, informs LETA, according to the latest State of the Internet review for the third quarter of this year conducted by Akamai Technologies company.
According to the review, Latvia's average internet speed in the third quarter of 2015 was 14.5 Megabits per second (Mbps). The average internet speed in Latvia rose by 2.3% from the previous quarter and by 8.9% from the respective quarter last year.
The highest internet speed has been recorded in South Korea - 20.5 Mbps, followed by Sweden with 17.4 Mbps, Norway with 16.4 Mbps, Switzerland with Mbps, Hong Kong with 15.8 Mbps, the Netherlands with 15.6 Mbps, Japan with 15 Mbps, Finland with 14.8 Mbps and the Czech Republic with 14.5 Mbps.
The State of the Internet review focuses on internet connection speeds, broadband internet quality and general trends in the sector.
