Welding courses are most demanded in the Estonian Labour Market Board

Among the training courses commissioned by the Labour Market Board of Estonia, the most popular ones are the welders' courses, writes the National Broadcasting/LETA.

People need to wait for several months in order to able to get the courses as there is high demand for welding courses. This is due to the fact that there is work for a couple of hundred welders in the Harju County.

The groups are convened by the Labour Market Board, but the Tallinn Lasnamäe School of Mechanics cannot train more than 30 welders per month while the numbers of those who have requested these courses is several times higher.

Head of the adults' re-training department of the Tallinn Lasnamäe School of Mechanics Mati Sarapuu stated that the system of re-training of unemployed persons is too rigid as it takes too much time – approximately nine months – from organising public procurement process for a training course until the end of the course.

This year the Labour Market Board has sent more than two thousand persons to different training courses.
