delfi.lv registered a 9% increase in the number of unique visits, and became the most popular website with a total of 746,000 users in July. Inbox.lv, which used to be first on the list of most visited websites in Latvia for many years, is now second with 742,000 unique visits. "Tvnet/Apollo" is third with 714,000 unique visits.

Delfi managed to acquire such popularity thanks to its content improvements and technical performance. "The portal's essence changed as well. We are not just a news portal anymore. We are the largest online publishing house in Latvia, issuing about a dozen different media products," CEO of Delfi Konstantins Kuzikovs comments.

Because of the events in Ukraine and last month's international popular music competition "New Wave 2014", the number of visits has increased for all news portals.

The study was conducted using anonymous online surveys.
