EIT ICT Labs Outreach Program presented at ICT 2013 in Vilnius

EIT ICT Labs introduces at the ICT 2013 in Vilnius its Outreach Program 2014 which aims to empower ICT top talents and bring together business, researchers and academics in the EU countries not directly connected to EIT ICT Labs.
The program for 2014 is presented for the first time at the Networking Session: Educate & Innovate: EIT ICT Labs Outreach Strategy on November 8 at 11.00-11.45.
The aim of the program is to activate start-ups by building strong ties to EIT ICT Labs action lines, related innovation programs and contests. Scholarship schemes to support talented ICT students to join the outstanding EIT ICT Labs Master School will be provided. Goal is to develop fruitful collaboration partnerships with EU countries outside the EIT ICT Labs network. Hence, events are planned among others, in Split, Ljubljana, Riga, Cluj-Napoca and Bucharest where local universities, research institutions and entrepreneurs can get acquainted with the EIT ICT Labs.
The mobility program helps local professors, researchers and students to become partners of international EIT ICT Labs projects with focus countries such as Poland, Czech Republic, Latvia; Slovenia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Estonia, Slovak Republic.
"The long-term objective of EIT ICT Labs is to drive European leadership in ICT Innovation for economic growth and quality of life. We can only perform this with the talent and experience from countries in the EU" – says Willem Jonker, CEO of EIT ICT Labs. "The EIT ICT Labs is committed to continue the outreach activities set off in 2013 linking the EIT ICT Labs community with the local ecosystems".
Furthermore the vision of EIT ICT Labs on future opportunities and promises of current technologies will be presented by Willem Jonker, CEO EIT ICT Labs and Roberto Saracco, Node Director of Trento, Italy at the panel discussions of ICT 2013 with the titles 'A journey into 2050's futures and policy challenges' and 'Unleashing the potentials of Future Internet & Cloud Computing towards a digital single market' on November 8.
