Lithuanians were left with the debts instead of the profit. LTL 18.7
million (EUR 5.4 million) is the sum that the Lithuanian IBM Research Centre
still owes. Who and when will pay the money for the investments and loans
company is not clear. Even Minister of Economy Evaldas Gustas cannot answer
this question.
"It is a pity that Lithuania was not able to control this process. We
had to separate form the IMB - without any anger," said Gustas. What are
the achievements of the Lithuanian IBM Research Centre? According to the
available data, only one patent was being registered.
The director of the company earned LTL 13 thousand (EUR 3.7 thousand) per month and this was one of the biggest salaries in Lithuania, write KAUNO DIENA/LETA.
