Lithuania's net foreign direct investment exceeds 490 million litas in June

The net positive foreign direct investment (FDI) flow of Lithuania amounted to 492.6 million litas in June 2013, while in January-June - 1.4 billion, Lithuanian national bank's Statistics Department said in a statement, reported LETA.

In June 2012 and January-June, net FDI outflow amounted to 956.4 million litas and 754.7 million litas, respectively.


In June 2013 and January-June, positive FDI flows to Lithuania amounted to 586 million litas and 1.3 billion litas, respectively. In June, the inflows were a result of an increase in all investment components, while in January-June, the inflows were mainly a result of reinvestments in Lithuania.


In January-June 2013, compared to the same period in 2012, the flow of FDI to Lithuania increased by 1.2 billion litas.


The negative flow of domestic economic entities' direct investment abroad of 93.4 million litas in June 2013 suggested an increase in direct investment abroad; however, compared to May, they slightly decreased - by 4.9 million litas, or five percent. Direct investment abroad declined in January-June (53.2 million litas), while in the same period in 2012 they grew by 852.2 million litas.
