Christmas storms in Estonia brought insurance companies 1.4 mln euros of damage claims

Print versionThe storms that ravaged Estonia during the past Christmas have so far brought insurance companies 567 damage claims for 1.4 million euros, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

So far, every day has brought new damage claims and the total damage sum will also increase, said Estonian Insurance Companies Association.
Damage claims were received from all over Estonia but mainly from Tallinn and Harju county.
79% of all damage claims are connected to damages to buildings. The biggest single damage claim amounts o 75,000 EUR.
The Insurance Companies Association cautioned people that since the storm period is not over, check that their insurance contracts cover storm and flood damages.
