PrintEgoPrise: improving business orientation of public services

The overall aim of project is to turn public administrations to offer more business oriented services, in order to relieve SMEs from administrative burdens and improve their access to information & qualified staff.

 

EgoPrise for SMEs:

 

• uses e-government to make public administrations more customer-focused,

• improves access of rural businesses to the labour market throughout the Baltic Sea region,

• boosts SMEs innovative capacity by networking with research establishments,

• supports the integration of SMEs in public networks and company clusters,

• helps companies save time and money.

EgoPrise for authorities:

• makes public administrations more efficient,

• promotes public administrations be readily accessible for business enterprise in the countryside,

• helps make e-government more customer-oriented to strengthen a region’s economic performance,

• helps public administrations to develop customer-friendly processes,

• optimises the e-government work of public administrations and helps them save time and money.

 

The project will identify the most challenging business related processes and weaknesses. For selected processes changes in workflows and procedures will be implemented, supported by technical e-government tools. Among others, a digital platform will be launched, facilitating the exchange of information and easing the cooperation between businesses, universities and public administrations. Moreover a multilateral business registration web service will be designed, providing multilingual support for businesses, when starting an enterprise abroad.

 

The project partnership is composed by 22 partners from 8 Baltic Sea countries – Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Belarus. Lead Partner is the “e-Government Association Mecklenburg-Vorpommern” (Germany). Latvian partners are Foundation „Riga Business University”, Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Latvian Association of Local and Regional Governments.

 

EgoPrise is co-financed by the European Union (2 Mio €) within the Baltic Sea Region Programme 2007-2013. The project will last until December 2012.
