РаспечататьDolls from "Lithuanian Marriage" return to Lithuania

BC, Vilnius/Washington, 06.08.2008.

Dolls from the composition "Lithuanian Marriage", created for an international exhibition held in New York in 1939, have returned to Lithuania after almost seven decades. The collection of dolls dressed in national clothes was preserved by the Lithuanian diplomatic representative office in Washington over all years of occupation, informs ELTA.

Artist Konstancija Petrikaite-Tuliene created the composition of dolls "Lithuanian Marriage" in line with the special order for the international exhibition in New York.

According to Irena Udraite from the Lithuanian Art Museum, it is possible to form a general image of Lithuania from these dolls dressed in national clothes of different regions in Lithuania.

This spring, the Lithuanian Embassy sent ten personages and several items of decoration from the collection to the Foreign Ministry, which transferred them to the Lithuanian Art Museum in Vilnius.
