Fuel companies eyeing liquid waste handling plant in West-Viru County

Companies engaging in the handling of liquid fuel and bitumen are planning to set up a plant for the treatment of liquid waste in the territory of Roodevalja village in West-Viru County, North Estonia, according the regional newspaper Virumaa Teataja said LETA/BNS,

The plant would have a capacity of 29,500 tons a year and be able to keep up to 260 tons of waste in its territory at any given time, of which up to 100 tons is raw material and 160 tons the product -- waste fuel.

 

The owner of the property of Terminal 12 in Roodevalja village currently is Roodevalja Terminal OU and the rights of superficies belong to T. R. Tamme Auto OU. Both companies engage in the handling of liquid fuel and bitumen.

 

According to the plan, the property would be divided into two plots, one of which would serve as home to a warehouse for dangerous liquid waste and a processing station, while the other would continue to be used by T. R. Tamme Auto OU and Roodevalja Terminal OU. Storage and processing would be taken care of by OU R-S Terminal, a company owned by Mihkel Miilpalu and AS Ragn-Sells.

 

A representative of the developer, Imre Saks, said that while they would provide the know-how, Ragn-Sells would be responsible for  the necessary investment, arrange for the supply of dangerous waste and the transportation of fuel to the customers.

 

Saks said that to make fuel from waste, used oils and water-based paint are mixed together. Approximately one million euros had been invested in the project already before the necessary permits were obtained.


Situated in the neighborhood of the future waste treatment facility are the meatpacking plant of AS HKScan Estonia, facilities of the Kevili farming association and organic food producer MTU Arkna Tervisekula.
