Bolt lowers price of electric car category in Tallinn

BC, Tallinn, 13.03.2020.Print version
Starting Friday, the Estonian ride-hailing platform Bolt is lowering the prices of its electric vehicle category to be equal with the prices of its regular Bolt category -- the aim of the price change is to support an environmentally friendly mode of transport and the development of electric transport in Tallinn, reported LETA/BNS.

A survey carried out among customers of Bolt last November indicates that 92.7% of respondents wanted brands to support them more in being environmentally friendlier in their daily life. Additionally, 81.9% of respondents would prefer to order electric cars if their price was not higher compared with other categories of vehicles.

"Taking into account the survey carried out last year, we decided to accommodate our customers and make ordering electric cars more accessible. At the beginning of this year, we decided to lower the price of the electric car category in Tartu and saw an exponential increase in the number of users. This, in turn, gave the drivers an opportunity to earn better. We are glad that, starting today, people in the capital will also be able to enjoy environmentally friendly transport at an affordable price," Bolt Estonia manager Aleksei Kolesnikov said.

Cars in Bolt's electric vehicle category are very new, the most common age of the vehicles is up to four years. The category includes, for example, Tesla and Nissan Leaf vehicles, but the company is also adding other cars to the category. According to the updated price list, the start price for a ride is 1.19 euros, the price per kilometer 0.39 euros and the price per minute 0.14 euros. The minimum price for a ride in the electric car category is 2.50 euros.
