SmartLynx planning to increase its fleet to 34 aircraft this summer

The Latvian registered charter airline SmartLynx Airlines plans to increase its fleet to 34 aircraft this summer, the airline informed LETA.

The airline points out that this would allow it to increase it capacity and allow to continue its development.


Currently, the Smartlynx Airlines fleet is made up of 16 Airbus A320 and eight Airbus A321 aircraft.


As reported, Smartlynx Airlines turned over EUR 215 mln in 2019, an increase of 25% from 2018, LETA learned from the company. 


The airline last year served 3.6 mln passengers, up 20% from a year ago. The number of flights increased by 2%.


The number of flight hours rose from 54,000 in 2018 to 63,800 in 2019. 


Smartlynx Airlines was established in 1992. The airline's share capital is EUR 1 mln, its sole owner is Smart Aviation Holdings company that belongs to Cyprus-registered Avia Solutions Group.
