Riga International Coach Terminal turned over more than EUR 3 mln in 2019, which is an increase of almost 2% against a year before, and the company's profit contracted by a fifth, the terminal's board chairperson Vaira Gromule told LETA.

According to information available at Firmas.lv, Riga International Coach Terminal closed 2018 with EUR 2.953 mln in turnover and EUR 435,417 in profit. The coach terminal's sole owner is the Riga local authority.

Gromule noted that recent years have been very stable for the coach terminal.

The number of passengers served at the terminal rose 8.25% last year to 1.9 mln people.

Gromule indicated that this figure only represents the passengers who had bought bus tickets at the terminal. "Assuming that most of them later come back to Riga by bus, we can double the figure," Gromule said, adding that some passengers buy bus tickets from drivers or on the internet.

Meanwhile, the number of bus departures dropped by nearly 2% to 154,400 last year as domestic bus traffic decreased.
