Estonian family company buys Finland's Tamrex

The family company that has been running the Estonian business of the fire and workplace safety equipment seller Tamrex for the past couple of decades has bought its Finnish parent after growing twice bigger in size than the parent company, according to the Postimees information writes LETA/BNS.

The company belonging to Estonians Harry and Raul Volke and Tambet Tamme last year acquired the Finnish company Tamrex Oy and its 40 percent minority holding in the Estonian company Tamrex Ohutuse OU.


Consolidated revenue of Tamrex in the four countries combined totaled 27 mln euros last year, of which sales in Finland accounted for nine million euros.


Tamrex, established in 1978, opened its first store in Estonia in 1999, in Latvia in 2012 and in Lithuania in 2015. The group has altogether 34 outlets and its employees number over 130.
