Mesako to build tiger prawn farm in Sigulda municipality for EUR 5 mln

Mesako construction firm will build a tiger prawn farm for APGE company in the Sigulda municipality for EUR 5 mln, according to information available on the Public Procurement Monitoring Bureau's website, writes LETA.

Masako beat two rival companies to win the APGE tender for the right to build the tiger prawn farm and provide it with the necessary equipment. The price of the contract is EUR 4.861 mln, excluding value added tax (VAT).


The project, which will be implemented on Jaunanneni farm in Sigulda municipality, is scheduled for completion by December 30, 2021. APGE hopes to raise co-funding from the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund's (EMFF) program Productive Investments in Aquaculture. 


APGE plans to sell tiger prawns in Latvia and neighbor countries. 


According to Firmas.lv, APGE was registered in 2017, its share capital is EUR 210,000. APGE belongs to Swedish company Mesako AB (94.97%), Elizabete Baltina (4.76%) and Maris Hmelnickis (0.27%).
