During this year's Midsummer holidays Latvia's Aldaris brewery saw its beer sales grow 30 percent against the same period last year, LETA was told at the company.

The brewery's representatives said that Aldaris sold 1.4 million liters of beer during the week leading up to the Midsummer Festivity but that beer sales peaked on the eve of Ligo and on Ligo Day.

The beer company's forecasts suggest that in June its revenues from beer sales grew 10 percent against the same month in 2017.

In 2016, Aldaris generated EUR 25.857 million in sales and posted a loss of EUR 3.178 million.

Aldaris , founded in 1865, is the largest brewery in Latvia and one of the biggest in the Baltics. It is part of Denmark's Carlsberg group, one of the world's largest beer makers.
