Latvian small and medium enterprises will receive support for attracting financing in capital markets, as the government on Tuesday approved the new EU funds support program.
The program will be implemented by the Central Finance and Contracting Agency (CFLA) by organizing open project tenders once in a quarter.
The support program in the present EU funds planning period will be implemented as a pilot project. The available funding is at EUR 1 mln. The support will be issued in the form of grants, covering 50% of expenses, but no more than EUR 100,000 in vase of issue of shares and no more than 20,000 in case of issue of debt securities.
It is planned that the support will be granted to at least 20 small and medium enterprises in the coming three years.
