Eleon to relocate development activities from Estonia
Eleon's management board member Oleg Sonajalg informed the newspaper about the decision on Thursday.
"We have dedicated all of our energy to it over the past year. Having been able to invent and put on the market so innovative a product with so much competitive edge, we can also find a suitable economic environment for this technology in the world where it could emerge as the Tesla of wind energy," Oleg Sonajalg said.
According to Sonajalg, for businesses neither the digital state nor absence of corporate income tax make up for the malevolence of officials, and the environment of Estonia is not suitable for the emergence of our own Nokia.
"Officials of the state have adopted the stance that no negotiations are held with entrepreneurs," he said. "But we will complete the Aidu wind farm anyway, whatever the price. The auction of the land of the Tootsi wind farm gave a clear indication of what the value of a wind farm is and what forces are controlling the processes in reality. It makes no sense to be naive and believe that the obstacles arose just as a result of the mean-spirited behavior of some individual official," he added.
The land designated for a wind farm at Tootsi in Western Estonia was bought in a public auction on Tuesday by the state-owned energy group Eesti Energia for 51.5 mln euros. Companies of the Saaremaa-based brothers Andres and Oleg Sonajalg did not take part in the auction.
