New Novatek LNG cargo on its way to Klaipeda

A new cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia's Novatek is on its way to the Lithuanian port of Klaipeda, marking the 16th such delivery in the new gas year that started last October, informed LETA/BNS.

Klaipedos Nafta, the Klaipeda LNG terminal's operator, has confirmed that the Coral Fungia tanker is to deliver around 10,000 cubic meters of LNG to the Lithuanian port on Thursday.


The Coral Fungia is coming from Russia's Baltic Sea port of Vysotsk, where Novatek has a LNG facility, according to the vessel tracking websites Marinetraffic.com and Myshiptracking.com. 


The gas carrier delivered the same amount of LNG to Klaipeda last weekend. 

The Klaipeda LNG terminal handled its first cargo of 2020 in early January. The shipment of around 138,000 cubic meters of gas came from Norway's Melkoya port where Equinor has a LNG production facility. It was the seventh large LNG cargo from Norway in the current gas year.
